A family photographer taking pictures is quite a common sight at some people’s family gatherings. On the other hand the same professional photographer may also be hired by commercial customers to shoot pictures for advertisements or brochures perhaps.

Photographers often specialize in taking photographs of certain types of subjects. Most obviously a professional photographer who takes pictures of family events and special occasions is a family photographer. It is quite common for a family photographer to be able to take surprisingly candid and emotional pictures of his clients because of the extent of the rapport that he develops with the members of the family. All those cute moments and little oddities that form the basis of family life will be there in front of him to capture on camera.

a Denver Photographer also explores other subject matter that lends itself well to being photographed, landscapes, still life, dramatic events and models may all fall beneath his lens. A commercial photographer’s work may be very familiar to you as they produce the pictures that you see every day when you read the newspaper or a magazine or even when you look at the side of a cereal box. The clients of a creative and skilled commercial photographer cover a wide range of industries from television and advertising through newspapers and publishers to many other visual and art based companies.

Denver Photographer: When You want the Best Portraits

Portrait photographers specialize in taking pictures of families and groups as well as individuals. The trademark of professional portrait photographers are thoughtful, profound and elegant photographs of the celebrities that you see in magazine and this can be applied to your friends and family. An accomplished Denver Photographer can provide you with a variety of different ways for you to use the interesting and innovative photographs he will take of you and your family.

To a professional Denver Photographer traveling to a particular event in order to take individual or group photographs is not a problem enabling them to cover all your special events. Portrait photographers produce high quality finished portraits by using high quality photography equipment. A Denver Photographer understands that the final portrait is what you are paying for and not the time that is spent on taking the photographs. In order to produce the best portrait of you and your family portrait photographers make sure that they use their time wisely and effectively.

In order to become really good at what they do portrait photographers often start as assistants to other reputed portrait photographers, so they have a wealth of experience and exposure behind each click of their camera.

If you want to end up with a nice photograph it is important with group photography to make sure that everyone looks their best and that they are all looking at the camera when the photo is taken. In order to make sure that the photograph doesn’t appear too casual everyone must have a similar expression on their face and also face the same way as everyone else. Coordinating this event is the responsibility of the professional photographer. A family portrait is essentially a photograph that can be given as gift to friends and family as well as kept for many years to come. A fabulous portrait can only be created with meticulous attention to detail on the part of an experienced Denver Photographer.

A good family portrait can only be taken by an accomplished Denver Photographer. Especially challenging portraits include those of families with small children. It can often be difficult to get the children to stay still long enough to be photographed. In order to distract children and get them to stay still most portrait photographers, and those commercial photographers who take pictures of children, often have an assistant with a small toy or puppet.

A narrative through imagery.

Telling a story through still images is one of my greatest sources of joy. Whether it is the pairing of similar images or contrasting completely different images a photographer/storyteller has the ability to put the viewer's mind in motion. These two images for example where take at two different times in two completely different places, but for some reason I like how they contrast together. I always enjoy the opportunity to show my work to people in person because it gives me the chance to watch how an individual views things. It is very interesting to me to study one's eye cross back and forth over an image. I believe that a successful photographer can control the eye movement of a viewer by choosing their composition carefully with forethought and intention. This rapid eye movement over a still image happens so quickly the view often times is unaware of what their eyes are doing. As a photographer and storyteller I truly enjoy the ability to influence others without them being aware there is a specific intention put in place. I believe this is part of creating a memorable image.

Stock Photography.

This is a recent image from a shoot I did for Getty images in San Francisco. I became involved with Getty through Jupiter Images in 2009. To make a long story short, Getty bought Jupiter and in doing so aquired my library of images. This was a great opportunity from me to sell more images online. The process of putting a shoot together, editing, and submitting takes months. Once images are in and accepted it takes 4 to 6 months to see a return on the investment.

Embrace at DAM

For the Embrace! exhibition, the DAM asked 17 artists to create one-of-a-kind installations for the Frederic C. Hamilton Building, our angular building designed by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind

“The concept of Embrace! was to open a dialog between painting and architecture,” explains Christoph Heinrich, the DAM’s deputy director and curator of the exhibition.

“Painting here is understood in the widest sense of the term, taking into account the developments of recent decades. This expanded definition determined the list of participants—not only painters but artists who produce sculptural, conceptual, and digital work.”

About the Hamilton Building

In 2001, the DAM commissioned architect Daniel Libeskind to design an expansion that would accommodate our growing collections and programs. The 146,000-square-foot Frederic C. Hamilton Building opened to the public in October 2006.

“Curators, educators, and designers have lived with this building for three years and have seen their proposals take shape here,” notes Heinrich. “Now, artists are taking over. Embrace! invites them to explore the structure, and in so doing celebrates a kind of second opening of the Hamilton Building.”

The real Costa Rica.

The culture, country, and everything that comprises this wonderful country has a draw of peacefulness unlike any I have experience. Maybe its because when I find myself there, I don't bring home or work life with me. I was thrilled and surprised to have another chance to visit and enjoy being close the the equator. A true escape.

The hotel:

It doesn't get much sweeter to get out of the country for the money. Friends ask me about it, and are often surprised as to how easy and cheap is it to get there and stay there. The key to success is planning ahead.

Water Time

X_mas break! Back in Central and loving it. Blessed to have the opportunity and the time. Thanks Ed for picking up this great shot of me enjoying the beautiful off shore sets the roll in every morning.Chest high at sunrise in 78 degree water is a great way to start the day. We were lucky to have great weather. I'm a big fan of the long board, its like a Catalac rolling down hill. Once it gets going in the right direction all you need to do is guide it and hand on and enjoy the scenery.
